Cynthia
Ensign Baney is a graduate of the acclaimed Indiana University School of
Music and has taught music from early childhood through college level
for 15 years. She is currently employed by the prestigious
Carmel Clay
Schools as an elementary music specialist. As owner of moriah music,
a seasoned early childhood curriculum development company, Baney is seen
frequently contracted by the Indianapolis Zoo and other prestigious
local venues as a children’s performer.
Baney is an author and composer; her research article on Early Childhood
Music Development is used as an academic standard by many colleges and
early childhood success companies such as The Canadian Child Care
Federation and the French-American Conservatory of Music. Baney also
conducts early childhood music teacher training workshops throughout the
tri-state area, and is often pursued and quoted for child development
articles across the nation.
In 2004 Cindy published her first children's CD, Artic & Aquatic
Adventures, which is available for purchase. The musical compilation is
the first title from the moriah music publishing house with science
songs for use with primary grades and ESL populations. An accomplished
lyricist, Cindy has completed three music CDs to date for various
musical genres.
Baney natural talent has earned her numerous teaching awards, including
being a two-time winner of both the coveted Lilly Endowment Teacher
Creativity Fellowship and a three time recipient of the Olin Davis
Award. She has received four grants from the Indiana Department of
Education for her original musicals.
